General News - 2nd Place in Iranian Cansat Competition :
A CanSat implies a can-shaped mini-satellite which shouldn't exceed the size of a standard beverage can and weights less than 350 g. The challenge is to integrate all the systems similar to those of an actual satellite into one vessel and launch it with a rocket or from a balloon. Recently I participated in Iranian Cansat Competition with a Team named Tranquility lander ( Refer to Tranquility Sea which Apollo 11 Landed there in 1969 ) as Team Leader. We Designed & Constructed a Can Sat For Two Mission . Atmospheric Sounding And Comeback Mission. The Cansat was lunched with Helium Balloon to Altitude of 1500ft AGL and Released with Remote Control Launcher. After that Cansat continually measured Atmospheric Parameters and Saved Them in its internal Flash Memory . also we planned to Send Data Wirelessly to The Ground Station but A Failure Caused Cansat to be Contact less with Ground. Our Cansat Also has another mission named Comeback. the cansat must control itself to land at specific location which defined by us. our cansat receive Fligth data from some variant of sensors and Calculate the flight path and send specific commands to its flight control to intercept the flight path.
With series of problems, our cansat wasn't able to successfully complete some of its missions. but our design & construction was very professional and inovative in its class which helped us to be ranked #2 Among other teams. i will create a page for this cansat in near feature and publish the documentations and pictures which we took during operation day & design phase.
